Step 4. Place the balls in the fridge for one hour. You want to wait until they’re chilled to dip them.

Step 5. Place your white almond bark in the microwave. Microwave in one minute intervals, stirring after each, until smooth.

Step 6. Dip the end of a cake pop stick in chocolate and push it into the center of each oatmeal ball. Let the chocolate harden.

Step 7. Once set, dip the rest of the cake pop in chocolate and shake off the excess. Set it on parchment paper.

Step 8. Immediately top with crumbled oatmeal creme pie.

Storing Leftovers

You can store leftovers in the fridge for about a week. To help keep them fresh, place them in an airtight container with a tight fitting lid.

Variations and Add-ins

  • Chopped nuts: Mix in chopped almonds, pecans, or peanuts for added crunch.
  • Mini chocolate chips: Fold in mini chocolate chips for bursts of chocolatey goodness.
  • Different coatings: Instead of almond bark, try dipping the cake pops in melted peanut butter chips or dark chocolate.
  • Drizzles: After dipping in chocolate, drizzle with contrasting chocolate or caramel.
  • Decorative toppings: Roll the dipped cake pops in crushed cookies or colorful sprinkles.
  • Frosting: Feel free to swap out the cream cheese frosting with vanilla frosting.

FAQs

What’s the best way to hold cake pops upright?

I recommend using cake pop holders. However, you could also use a glass filled with colored rice or sprinkles or a foam block covered with pretty paper.

What can I do to prevent the dough from sticking to my hands?

If the mixture is too sticky, try chilling it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes longer to firm up. You can also lightly grease your hands with oil or butter when rolling the mixture into balls.

Why is my coating cracking?

Chocolate bark or candy melts will give you the best results and typically won’t crack when set up. If you’re using regular chocolate chips, you may want to try adding a small amount of vegetable oil or shortening to the melted chocolate to help give it a smoother consistency.
