Excited about the new Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales? So am I! Check out this sneak peak of the new movie, plus some pirate inspired treasure filled cupcakes!
Is there any better pirate than Captain Jack Sparrow? I’ve loved watching him since the very first Pirates Of The Caribbean movie! Now I can’t wait until the latest chapter, Dead Men Tell No Tales. It doesn’t come out until May 26th but I saw a sneak peek last week and without giving too much away, the guillotine scene had me laughing hysterically one minute and on the edge of my seat the next!
I don’t have that scene to show you yet (sorry!) but I do have an extended sneak peak for you:
Here’s more info from Disney Pictures:
Johnny Depp returns to the big screen as the iconic, swashbuckling anti-hero Jack Sparrow in the all-new “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.” The rip-roaring adventure finds down-on-his-luck Captain Jack feeling the winds of ill-fortune blowing strongly his way when deadly ghost sailors, led by the terrifying Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem), escape from the Devil’s Triangle bent on killing every pirate at sea—notably Jack.
Jack’s only hope of survival lies in the legendary Trident of Poseidon, but to find it he must forge an uneasy alliance with Carina Smyth (Kaya Scodelario), a brilliant and beautiful astronomer, and Henry (Brenton Thwaites), a headstrong young sailor in the Royal Navy. At the helm of the Dying Gull, his pitifully small and shabby ship, Captain Jack seeks not only to reverse his recent spate of ill fortune, but to save his very life from the most formidable and malicious foe he has ever faced.
“Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” also stars Kevin R. McNally as Joshamee Gibbs, Golshifteh Farahani as the sea-witch Shansa, David Wenham as Scarfield, Stephen Graham as Scrum, and Geoffrey Rush as Captain Hector Barbossa.
Pirates Of The Caribbean Treasure Filled Cupcakes
If you read my blog regularly, you know that I’ll jump on any excuse to make a dessert and this movie inspired me. I’d picked up a candy mold for making gems treasure, but hadn’t decided how I was going to use it yet. After reading about this movie, I knew I had to make Pirates Of The Caribbean Treasure Filled Cupcakes. How perfect are these candy treasures?!
They’re so easy to make, too. I started with gold foil cupcake wrappers because we all know how much pirates like their gold. I baked the cupcakes and let them cool. Then I used a cupcake corer to create holes for the hidden treasure.
Then I added the candy. Since the pieces were rather large, one or two filled the hole.
After adding the candy, I closed the hole with a small piece of cupcake.
Now it just needed a little frosting, some gold sprinkles, fake gems and a Pirates Of The Caribbean flag.
My five year old might be a little young to see the movie but she sure liked these cupcakes! I told her about the hidden treasure ahead of time and she couldn’t wait to “find” it.
Are you excited about the new Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales too? It may not come out until May 26th but can get more details now.
