Baked brie is already a classic appetizer, but wait until you try it whipped into the creamiest dip imaginable! The texture completely changes into a fluffy, silky dip that takes just minutes to make. It has the same rich, buttery brie flavors you love, just with an airy twist that takes regular brie to a whole new level!

I love making this when friends or family come over and I need something quick but impressive. It’s versatile too…add honey for sweetness, roasted garlic for savory vibes, or fig jam for a fancy touch. However you top it, everyone will think you went all out (they’ll never have to know that it took just minutes).

Step 1. Remove the rind from the brie wheel by slicing off the top, bottom, and sides with a sharp knife. Cut into cubes.

Step 2. Place the brie cubes and cream cheese in the bowl of your food processor or stand mixer. Whip until smooth and airy, scraping down the sides as needed.

How To Store Leftovers

If you have leftover dip, you can store it in an airtight container for up to 3 days. You will want to re-whip it lightly before serving. I don’t recommend freezing it.

Tips And Tricks

This whipped brie might be simple, but a few smart tricks make all the difference. Here’s how you can get that silky, airy texture every time.

  • Slice the rind from the brie while it’s cold. It’s much easier than when the cheese is soft.
  • Let the brie come to room temperature before whipping for a smoother texture.
  • Use a food processor or a mixer with a paddle attachment for the lightest, fluffiest dip.
  • Scrape down the sides a few times to make sure the brie cheese blends evenly.
  • Always add toppings just before serving so they stay fresh.

Variations And Add-ins

One of the best parts of this recipe is how easy it is to change up. Sweet, savory, or somewhere in between, here are some of my favorite ways to make it your own.

  • Drizzle with hot honey for a sweet and spicy version.
  • Add roasted garlic and fresh rosemary for a savory twist.
  • Swirl in fig jam or apricot preserves for a fruity flavor.
  • Top with toasted walnuts or pecans for crunch.
  • Sprinkle with fresh thyme or chives for extra flavor.
  • Drizzle with balsamic glaze and top with strawberries for a summer version.
  • Spread on crostini and finish with prosciutto and arugula.

FAQS

Can I make whipped brie ahead of time?

Yes, you can whip it up the day before. Store in the fridge and re-whip before serving.

Why do I need to remove the rind?

The rind makes the texture grainy. You’ll want to remove it for the creamiest dip.

What type of brie works best?

I prefer to use a double or triple cream brie because it gives me the smoothest and richest results.

Why is my whipped brie runny?

The cheese may have been too warm. Chill it for 10 minutes to help it firm up.

What can I serve with whipped brie?

I serve this whipped brie dip with crackers, crostini, sliced apples and pears. You can also add it to your favorite cheese board or Holiday Charcuterie Board.
